Dr Rangi Matamua
Toihoukura are delighted that Dr Rangi Matamua returns in 2016 to speak again about Ringihia i te Kete: Language of the Stars.
The korero builds on his first Public Lecture, which introduced the idea that current Māori beliefs around Matariki are based on the stories of other cultures.
Dr Matamua has produced a number of publication in his specialist areas of Māori Astronomy, Broadcasting and he has extensively researched areas of Māori language revitalisation and Culture.
His PhD examined the role of Māori language revitalisation, and he sits on a number of related boards including the Society for Māori Astronomy Research and Traditions (SMART).
